Terms of Use
1. About these terms
These terms apply to the website at culturequickies.art and to Culture Quickies content wherever it is published. Culture Quickies is based in Portugal and can be contacted at [email protected]. By using this website or our content, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
2. Our content
Unless stated otherwise, the Culture Quickies name, logo, website text, and the scripts, edits, narration and compositions of our videos belong to Culture Quickies.
Our videos discuss artworks, buildings and historical material that belong to their respective owners or are in the public domain. Where we use third-party images or footage, we do so with permission, under licence, or as otherwise permitted by law, such as quotation for criticism, review or teaching. Some of our imagery, including the artwork on this website, is created or enhanced with AI image tools and is not a photograph of a real object.
You are welcome to watch, link to and share our videos using the sharing features of the platform you found them on. You may not download, re-upload, edit or commercially use our videos, or present them as your own, without our written permission.
If you believe our content infringes your rights, email us with details of the work and where it appears and we will look into it promptly. You can also use the reporting tools of the platform concerned.
3. Using this website
This website is provided for information about Culture Quickies. Please don’t:
- attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the website or the server it runs on
- use automated tools to scrape the site in a way that degrades it for others
- use the site for any unlawful purpose
We may change, suspend or withdraw the website at any time.
4. Social platforms
Our videos are published on TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and X. When you watch or interact with them there, your use is governed by that platform’s own terms and privacy policy, not by Culture Quickies:
- TikTok Terms of Service
- YouTube Terms of Service
- Facebook Terms of Service
- Instagram Terms of Use
- X Terms of Service
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of these platforms. We may moderate or remove comments on our posts that are abusive, spam or unlawful.
5. Our publishing tool
Culture Quickies uses a private, server-side application to publish its own videos to its own accounts through the TikTok, YouTube, Meta and X APIs. The tool is not offered to the public and no one other than Culture Quickies can sign in to it or connect an account. We use these APIs in line with each platform’s developer terms. Our use of YouTube API Services is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.
6. Accuracy and corrections
Our videos are short by design. They are made to spark curiosity and offer general education, and they are not academic, legal, financial or professional advice. We research our stories carefully, but short formats necessarily simplify, and historians sometimes disagree. If you think we got something wrong, email us. Where a correction is warranted, we will make it in a pinned comment, a caption update or a follow-up video.
7. External links
This website links to websites we do not control, including social platforms. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
8. Liability
The website and our content are provided free of charge and “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, Culture Quickies is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the website or our content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be on this page, with the “last updated” date shown above.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
